Suzuki, the well appreciated Japanese auto maker, seems all set to launch its much awaited Gixxer model in the Indian auto market on September 9. This model was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, which was organized earlier this year. Suzuki Gixxer is expected to come equipped with a performance oriented 155 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. The maximum power churned out by this engine stands at 14 bhp with a highest torque of 14 Nm. In order to transfer the produced output to its rear wheels, the bike will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission system.

Sources close to the development process hinted that the auto maker will price its upcoming model strategically, in order to lure the price sensitive Indian buyers. With a tag of around Rs. 78000, the new Gixxer will deliver a stiff competition to Bajaj Pulsar, Hero Xtreme, Yamaha FZ and Honda CB Trigger. The main highlights of this new bike will be its chiseled fuel tank, stylish head light and chrome tipped exhaust system. With all these attributes, the new Suzuki Gixxer will pose a standout design with a distinct identity.

Industry experts said that Suzuki was expecting much from its previous offering GS150R from the Indian market, but the model failed to achieve the same. Considering that GS150R had a bolder design and appealing design, the bike failed to strike right chords with the hearts of Indian buyers. On the other hand, the bookings for Gixxer have already started at the authorized dealers.

To make this bike a standout in the Indian auto market, it is anticipated to feature Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology. This technology works on carburetor-type fueling pattern, which allows SEP to deliver an overwhelming performance.
