      Suzuki Gixxer SF launching tomorrow

      Suzuki, the Japanese two-wheeler maker, will launch the much-awaited fully faired Suzuki Gixxer SF in the Indian two-wheeler market tomorrow. Dealers have already started taking pre-bookings for the bike for a token amount of Rs. 5,000. Likely to be priced under Rs. 1 lakh, the Gixxer SF could be among the country's most affordable fully-faired motorcycle.

      The Suzuki Gixxer SF will be powered by the same 154.9cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that also powers the naked Gixxer. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 14.8PS at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 14Nm at 6,000rpm. Power is transferred to roads via a five-speed gearbox.

      The fully faired bike will share most of the essential components with its naked sibling. Features to be on offer will be LED tail lamps, & full, aerodynamic bike fairing, clear lens indicators, 7-step adjustable rear mono suspension, the digital instrument panel, etc. The braking system comprises of hydraulic type disc brakes at the front and drum type brakes at the rear. The front tyre measure 100/80/17, while the rear gets 140/60R/17 tyres.

      The SF Gixxer dimensions will likely to be the same as the regular model. It is expected to be 2,050mm long, 785mm wide, 1,030mm tall and it comes with a wheelbase of 1,330mm. The bike will be launched in three colour shades - Black, Blue and White. It will rival against the likes of Yamaha Fazer and others bike in the segment.
