      Suzuki Gixxer SF launching today; teaser video released

      The much-awaited Suzuki Gixxer SF, the fully faired version of the naked Gixxer, will go on sale in the Indian two-wheeler market today. The Japanese auto maker has released a teaser video, revealing some details of the bike ahead of its launch. Bookings for the bike have already commenced at a token amount of Rs. 5,000, and the company has already dispatched the bike to its dealerships across India. It is expected to be priced under Rs. 1 lakh, making it one of the most affordable fully-faired motorcycles in the country.

      Powering the Suzuki Gixxer SF is the same 154.9cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that also does duty on the naked Gixxer. This engine is good for 14.8PS of power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox.

      The Suzuki Gixxer SF measures 2,050mm in length, 785mm in width, 1,030mm height and it comes with a wheelbase of 1,330mm. The bike comes with a ground clearance of 160mm, and has a kerb weight of 139kg which is 4kg more than the naked model. The suspension mechanics of the bike comprises of telescopic forks up front and a 7-step adjustable monoshock suspension at rear. The braking system consists of single disc at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

      It rides on a 17-inch trim, covered with 100/80/17 tyre up front and 140/60R/17 tyre at the back. The feature list includes LED tail lamps, aerodynamic bike fairing, clear lens indicators, digital instrument panel, etc. It will be offered in three colour options - Metallic Triton Blue, Pearl Mirage White and Glass Sparkle Black. It will rival against the likes of Yamaha Fazer and others bike in the segment.
