Showcased earlier this year, Suzuki has eventually launched its 155 cc motorcycle, dubbed ‘Gixxer’ in India at Rs 72,199 (ex-showroom Delhi). Suzuki has positioned new Gixxer above the GS150R motorcycle. The new Gixxer is said to have taken design cues from GSX-R1000 Series. Among its various highlights a muscular fuel tank, twin exhausts in one end can, thick tyres and body coloured grab rails are included.
Other features that have been equipped in the motorcycle include a fully digital instrument console and LED tail lights. Suspension set up comprise of telescopic forks in the front and monoshock at rear. Front wheel of the bike is wrapped with a 100/80-17 tubeless rubber which is equipped by a single disc. On the other hand the rear wheel comes fitted with 150/60R-17 tyre gets a drum brake.
Under the hood is a 155 cc single- cylinder air-cooled carburetted motor that is capable of engendering a maximum power of output of 14.8 PS and a peak torque of 14 Nm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. In its segment the new Suzuki Gixxer will compete with the likes of Honda 160 cc bike and Yamaha FZ.
