Honda’s monthly sales have slipped in the month of October, more than 20 per cent as compared to the sales in September 2017. The sales have dropped down to 14,234 units as compared to the 18,000 plus units in September. The sales numbers are down even when you compare it to the 15,069 units sold in October 2016.

Honda’s bestseller, the City has taken a beating, and the sales are now below 5,000 units, especially after the arrival of the Verna. Honda’s new blue-eyed boy, the WR-V has dropped below 4,000 units for the first time since its launch. The downturn has also affected the Amaze and the Jazz - the cars that were ideally intended to bring in the volumes for Honda.

This dip in sales is because of some supply issues which held up a few key components, thus delaying the deliveries marked for the month of October. With the issues resolved, we can expect the sales to bounce back to the 17,000 units to 18,000 units in November. On the upside, Honda’s cumulative sales for the first two quarters of FY 2017-18 has seen a 17 per cent growth over the previous year.
