      SsanGyong XLV Concept showcased at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show

      Ssangyong uncovered the new crossover concept, XLV at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The crossover is conceived on the 2011 XIV-1 concept. XLV is a capacious crossover with a capacity to seat 7 adults comfortably in 2+2+2+1 seating arrangement. SsnagYong has bestowed XLV with their contemporary ‘Nature born 3 motion’ design philosophy. The SUV has been spotted a couple of times in India hinting at the possibility of its launch in the domestic market.

      The exteriors are appealing, rendering a premium look to the crossover. Interiors too have been worked upon meticulously and get an array of advanced comfort and convenience features. Touted to be a part of the premium SUV segment, XLV is expected to come with a high price tag. SsangYong is expected to launch the XLV concept by 2015.

      Over the past few months, SsangYong has been registering good monthly sales in India. Currently SsangYong has just one vehicle, Rexton SUV, available for sale in the domestic market. The company will soon launch Korando SUV and Rodius MPV in India which was showcased at the 12thAuto Expo last month. Rodius MPV is said to be powered with a 2.0 litre turbocharged e-Xdi200 diesel powertrain belting out a maximum power output of 155 PS and a peak torque of 360 Nm. Rodius is likely to offer comfort and convenience features likeUSB/AUX, 2DIN MP3 CDP, built-in audio and sound system with Bluetooth support.Among the safety features, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Active Roll Over Protection (ARP) and Brake Assist System (BAS) and various others will be offered. The company is also developing a SUV jointly with Mahindra codenamed S102 based on X100 platform which could be launched in India either by 2015 end or early 2016.
