Nissan’s new hatchback model Micra built on the latest V-platform has debuted in Indian as well as international markets this year. The model has taken the global markets by storm and is extremely successful across the board. Nissan’s saloon model based on Micra is now caught testing and will be revealed at the upcoming Guangzhou Motor show in December this year.

Autocar India reports that the new Nissan Micra saloon model is expected to be named as Nissan Sunny in the global markets. However, its brand name for India cannot be speculated as ‘Sunny’ is currently owned by Bajaj Auto for its scooterrette which has been discontinued in the Indian market.
The new Nissan Micra saloon is likely to be the next-gen entry level sedan model that is expected to compete with models like Maruti Swift Dzire, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Verna' >Hyundai Verna, and upcoming VW Vento.
