      South Florida International Auto Show commenced on 28th October

      Automobile manufacturers have been eagerly waiting for the annual South Florida International Auto Show, in order to showcase their new models amid potential buyers. The annual international event that started on 28th October 2011 will be continuing till 6th November, 2011. The auto show is in its 41st cycle and is considered as a useful platform for a number of automobile manufacturers. South Florida Automobile Dealers Association is sponsoring the grand event. 

      The 10-day long event is being held at the Miami Beach Convention Centre in Florida. The show was officially opened at the Convention Centre on Friday, 28th October at 5 pm. Organisers of the large-scale event expect to pull the masses through the event. Moreover, the event will be featuring around 1,000 vehicles belonging to more than 40 giant automobile manufacturers.

      Vehicles based on hybrid and electric technology would be a salient feature of the automobile event. Ford Motors, one of the automobile companies that offer a wide range of fuel efficient cars, will be showcasing its electric car Ford Focus, which will be on sale by the year end. Moreover, Nissan Leaf is another highlight in the electric car segment or the “Green Way”.

      Various car makers have plans to showcase vintage models that date back to a couple of decades. The “Memory Lane” will present around 20 such cars and 2 motorcycles. General Motors has also geared up to showcase car models under all the 4 automobile brands namely, Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC and Buick. Sub compact Chevrolet Sonic and concept from of Cadillac, Ciel Convertible, will be seen at the event.

      The international car show will also be interactive as various car makers are expected to offer test drives and some of them include Toyota, Fiat and Jeep. President of the South Florida Automobile Dealers Association, Richard Baker said, “You get interactive with consumers sitting in the car, playing with the radio. All those things can change consumers' minds about what kind of car they're going to buy.”
