India has been earned the poor reputation for traffic discipline. Recklessness and unorganized driving pattern has resulted in huge number of fatalities in the country. Google has been trying and testing its very own driverless prototype that can navigate on its own and safely carry the occupants to their destination. Somewhat on similar lines, a Bangalore, India based company named CarlQ has been working on a device that enables the car to be smarter and communicate while driving.

Speaking on project's development from the two year old company, 38 Year old Sagar Apte, CEO, CarlQ said, “It's like giving the power of speech to cars. The car has always known whenever there was a problem. There was just no way to communicate that before.” Reportedly, the device can be used in any car irrespective of the brand that has been produced in 2008 or after.

Adding how the device may help in opening opportunities across diverse business industries, Nishant Batra, vice president at Swedish multinational Ericsson, said, “The cost of insurance is driven by vehicular habits of drivers. If that is known, insurers can offer insurance packages specific to drivers.” Another Indian based company named Ather Energy in IIT Chennai has been working on developing a smart scooter.
