Most of the car makers in India are either developing new vehicles or modifying existing models in a bid to achieve increased monthly sales. Joining the band wagon is the Czesh auto maker, Skoda that will soon be rolling out a facelift version of its Yeti SUV in India. If we go by speculations, the company might launch new Yeti SUV in domestic market by July, a glimpse of which were seen at the 2014 Auto Expo held earlier this year in Greater Noida. However, the facelifted model of Yeti is already on sale in several global markets. For Indian market a hypothetical starting price of Rs 17 lakh is being speculated for new Yeti.
The new avatar of Yeti is likely to flaunt a comprehensive cosmetic make over, rendering it a completely different look as compared to the outgoing version. Changes have been made to the vehicle in tandem with Skoda’s new line-up. On the exterior front, additions have been made to the front and rear. The front fascia gets a new grille; rectangular shaped head lamps with optional bi-xenons and LED daytime running lights. Rear side of the vehicle sports a new C-shaped tail lights with optional LEDs and a reworked tailgate. To further enhance the overall appearance of the vehicle, Skoda has also affixed a set of new alloy wheels. The company is said to offer tweaked Yeti in new colour options.
Tweaks have also been made inside the cabin including a new steering wheel, new dashboard trim and fabric seat trims and patterns. Few other features like automatic parallel parking system and a rear view camera will also be offered as optional.
Engine configuration will remain same as in the current version. Skoda will offer Yeti in front wheel and all wheel drive variants. The front wheel drive variant of Yeti will come powered with the same 2.0 litre diesel motor that engenders a maximum power output of 108 Bhp and a top torque of 250 Nm. The all wheel drive trim of Yeti will be housed with the same engine producing enhanced power and torque output of 138 Bhp and 320 Nm respectively.
