Skoda will launch its Kodiaq SUV in the Indian market tomorrow. Showcased as a concept in 2015, it was launched abroad last year and stands alongside the Superb as Skoda’s new flagship vehicle. We have already driven the car and you can find our first impression here or in the reviews section of our mobile app.

      Skoda Kodiaq India launch

Under the hood of the Skoda Kodiaq is a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 150bhp/340Nm. The only gearbox option for the Indian market is a seven-speed DSG and AWD, of which the latter is only expected to be offered on top spec variants.

On the outside, the Kodiaq get Skoda’s latest design philosophy. The face is dominated by the signature Skoda moustache grille and head lamps. At 4.6-meters, the Kodiaq is pretty big with large over hangs at both ends. Finally, the rear gets the wedge like C-shaped tail lamps and stacked design.

Inside, its standard Skoda fare and at first glance, it gives out the impression that one is looking at a scaled up version of the Superb’s cabin. Standard features include climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, three rows of leather upholstered seats and a plethora of storage spaces all around.

The Kodiaq is Skoda’s rival for the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MU-X and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. We believe that Skoda will price the Kodiaq in the price range of Rs 25 lakhs to Rs 30 lakhs.
