Premium car maker Skoda Auto has launched the new petrol version of its premium sedan Laura RS in the Indian market on Wednesday, in a ceremony held in Mumbai. The new Laura RS carries a price tag of Rs 15,99,069 (ex-showroom Maharashtra).
Speaking at the occasion, Skoda Auto India Board Member and Director for Sales & Marketing Thomas Kuehl said, "The new Laura RS is a performance-oriented product aimed at car enthusiasts who have an emotional connect with their car. It's not a product you choose on pure rationale as the RS badge evokes tremendous passion amongst the owners."
Powered by a 1.8L engine, the new Laura RS petrol version has been launched in four exciting colors including sprint yellow, magic black, race blue and candy white.
While further elaborating on the car’s performance, Mr. Kuehl said, "Designed to provide maximum driving pleasure through performance and precision, the RS continues to build on Skoda's reputation for comfort and safety."
Skoda Auto is a fully owned subsidiary of the Europe’s largest car maker Volkswagen and sells a range of premium cars in the Indian market including hatchback Skoda Fabia, premium sedan’s Skoda Laura and Superb, and sports utility vehicle (SUV) Skoda Yeti.
So far, the company has sold 1,19,304 cars in the Indian auto market since its debut in the country in year 2001. The company currently has 73 dealers in the country.
