Skoda Auto, a completely owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Group, has unveiled the initial pictures of its yet-to-be launched 2013 Octavia premium sedan. Evidently, the Czech car maker has developed its new latest version of Octavia model, which has been among its global best sellers for many years.
Currently, Skoda has developed its 2013 Octavia especially for auto markets of South American countries and from revealed pictures, the sedan looks stunning. The premium model caters to mid-end consumers and offers strong engine performance along with an impressive luxury quotient in its overall package. The yet-to-be launched Octavia is possessed with Skoda's cutting-edge VisionD design concept and flaunts some mesmerising curves and arches. Further, the 2013 Skoda Octavia model certainly looks like one of best versions till date, and its launch is greatly looked forward by car enthusiasts across the globe.
The Indian arm of Skoda Auto has discontinued its Octavia brand in the country two years back in 2010, in order to make space for its Rapid sedan. The Octavia had been one of most successful models of the Czech car maker and helped it in establishing a public image of a premium car maker on Indian turf. Further, it is going to be very interesting if Skoda launches its 2013 Octavia sedan in the country, where it will compete against Chevrolet Cruze, Renault Fluence, Hyundai Elantra and its cousin Volkswagen Jetta.
At present, Chevrolet Cruze sedan is current champion in the segment and has been recording impressive sales as well. The Cruze's biggest USP is its best-in-class power and performance ratings, along with enticing exterior appearance. Further, General Motors retails its Cruze saloon at a price bracket starting from Rs. 14 lakhs that goes on till Rs. 16 lakhs. Hence, in order to make its 2013 Octavia price competitive against Chevrolet Cruze and other contemporaries, Skoda India will have to devise an aggressive price strategy between Rs. 12 lakhs and Rs. 15 lakhs.
