The German auto maker Skoda is offering free maintenance plan for its new customers that plan to buy a Skoda model this month. The plan offers free maintenance for 3 years or 50000 kms, whichever is first. The new scheme is available on popular models from Skoda like Skoda Octavia, Skoda Superb, Skoda Laura and Skoda Fabia.

On the other hand, another group company is offering a similar offer, but the free maintenance is available for 3 years or 45000 km whichever is earlier. The offer is available on its model Volkswagen Jetta.

Skoda plans to launch its popular model Superb in February 2009 and would announce the price at that time. It unveiled the model at the Autocar Performance Show 2008. Skoda Superb was launched in Europe in June and received a great response. In India, the Superb will be a "benchmark in its class in terms of design, safety and value,” says Skoda India Board Member Thomas Kuehl. The company has already sold 16000 units in the Indian car market in this calendar year. They have posted a growth of 50 percent above the previous year. Kuehl also stated that the company is working on a small car concept for the Indian car market as well as the developed markets. He said that the car will take nearly 3-5 years to come into the market and will be in a price range of Rs. 3-5 lakh.
