Skoda India has rolled out the new GST price for its products in the country. The new prices are effective from 1 July 2017 and the company claims that the revised prices are in line with the revised tax structure which has been defined under the GST. The Superb model witnesses the maximum change with a revision ranging between 4.10 percent - 7.30 per cent, thereby resulting in a price benefit of up to 2.4 lakhs.

The Octavia on the other hand witnesses a price revision ranging between 1.6 per cent - 7.40 per cent, thereby offering a maximum benefit of Rs 1.75 lakh. The revised price is however for the current model which will soon be replaced by the 2017 model on 13 July 2017 and it is unclear for now if the new model will also attract discount. In Delhi, the petrol top automatic variant of Rapid is now cheaper by Rs 10,000, while the diesel top spec automatic diesel is expensive by Rs 4,000.

The revised prices vary in each city and across the car range depending on the earlier VAT rates. The Octavia has always been a popular model in India and it will be interesting to see if Skoda will pass on the GST benefit to the new model as well.
