Skoda Kodiaq spotted with minimal camouflage before its world premiere

Skoda's upcoming new Kodiaq SUV was spied on test, this time, shedding most of its camouflage. The vehicle will be officially revealed on September 1 in Berlin.

The test mule spotted on test in Czech Republic still was still running with some make-shift components. The tail lamps are different from the LED units seen in the pictures released by Skoda recently. Otherwise, the test mule displays the actual size of the vehicle. The DRLs, long bonnet, roof line, shoulder line, square wheel arches and most of the design shouts out the properties of the VisionS concept.

The Skoda Kodiaq will be offered with five engine options including two TDIs and three TSIs. The most powerful petrol engine of the lot is the 2.0-litre TSI mill, which has a power output of 180bhp. Then there is also a wide range of technology including options of six-speed manual gearbox, DSG transmission, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

Skoda’s upcoming SUV promises to be true to its character and feel at home even on rough roads thanks to its off-road mode. The carmaker has added several features like driving mode select and the new Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) to add to the driving experience. With the help of these one can configure the operation of the steering, accelerator, DSG transmission and suspension in multiple modes.

This will be Skoda's flagship SUV and get a futuristic design paired with a variety of new technology and future-oriented features. These include mobile online services in terms of connectivity boasting of the best information and safety. All of this will be officially presented next month and then again at the Paris Motor Show in October. The car will then be launched in India in 2017 as the manufacturer starts importing it as CKD units.
