Skoda has unveiled new Fabia hatchback at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The design is reminiscent of Skoda’s other new models that don neat lines and slack outer faces. Cabin seems austere, though it has been equipped well with some of the high end features such as MirrorLink system that enables to display Smartphone apps on the infotainment system, SmartGate system that permits owners to access from their smartphone. The new Fabia is capacious enough and offers a boot space of 330 litres which can further be increased to 1150 litres after folding rear seats.
Power will come from three cylinder and four cylinder engines, petrol engines outputting between 60 PS to 110 PS will be employed in petrol variants. On the other hand diesel variants will get the 1.4 litre TDI diesel powertrain producing between 75 PS to 105 PS.
Besides these a GreenLine variant will also be launched late next year, this variant will get aerodynamic styling modifications. Under the hood will be a 1.4 litre TDI engine generating 75 PS. The engine will come fitted with a start/stop system, among other additions will be a kinetic energy recuperation an low rolling resistance tires. Courtesy these changes the variants will deliver claimed fuel economy of 3.1 litre and will emit 82g/km CO2.
