Amidst rising fuel prices, mounting interest rates, higher input costs and a grim economic scenario, Skoda Auto India and Nissan India, unlike other auto makers in the country, have seen a steep rise in their sales in the month of September. Skoda Auto India marked an increase in its sales by a whooping 39 per cent from 1670 units in September 2011 to 2321 units in September 2012. The only other car manufacturer that has seen such a massive increase in its sales is the Japanese auto giant Nissan, which saw a rise in its sales by 64.24 per cent to 3,574 units in the month of September. This accounted mainly due to huge demands for its hatchback Micra and Nissan Sunny.

The overall sales for the period between January to September 2012 also saw an increase for Skoda Auto India. Riding high on this, Skoda Auto India is optimistic that the upcoming festive season would bring even more sales. Talking about this, Sudhir Rao, Managing Director of Skoda Auto India said that he is optimistic that the coming festive season would be marked by an increased momentum in sales.
