Lewis Hamilton registered his second win amongst five races when he beat others like Jenson Button at the Singapore Grand Prix. Timo Glock was second for Toyota to match the team’s best-ever result. Fernando Alonso, last year’s winner after his team cheated, was third, Vettel fourth, Button fifth, Barrichello sixth, Kovalainen seventh and Kubica’s BMW eighth.

Hamilton’s competitors were not able to really make the best out of the offered chances. Brawn delivered a disastrous performance while Button had a bad start at 11th position. Sebastian Vettel damaged his car during the race at the kerb and drove through the pit lane too fast during his second stop and was hit with a drive through on lap 39 that ended his chances of victory. He now trails Button by 25 points as he finished fourth.

Mark Webber and Barrichello suffered brake problems. Webber’s brakes exploded in on lap 46 and had to be radioed "Just bring the car home now, just bring it home," with his team seeing the narrow escape he had. Button holds 84 points and Barrichello 69.
