It is a well-known fact that that Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been a key player in the utility vehicle segment in India. Supporting claims, the automaker has already accumulated over two lakh bookings for the vehicle and has already sold over 90,000 units as of January 31, 2017. It is believed that by the end of this month, the numbers are likely to rise well over two lakh bookings. Owing to a strong demand for Maruti’s strong selling product, the waiting period for the same has surged close to seven months now.

The Indian automaker’s existing facility is operating at its full capacity. However, the growing demand for the Baleno as well as the Vitara Brezza has created backlogs which have eventually resulted in longer waiting periods for customers. The Indian automaker plans to shift the Baleno’s production to the Suzuki’s new facility in Gujarat, which will ease off some pressure and increase the production for the Vitara Brezza as well as accommodate the recently launched Ignis.

Under the hood, the Vitara Brezza is powered by 1.3-litre DDIS motor which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Available only in diesel, the fairly powered engine generates a modest 88bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. The company claims that the compact SUV returns a fuel efficiency figure of 24.3kmpl. Speaking of features, it comes loaded with touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, engine start/stop button and a variety of personalization options. As for safety, it comes with dual airbags and ABS with EBD among others.
