Mahindra and Mahindra have cut down prices of Scorpio by Rs. 34000 to Rs. 70,000. It has also upgraded the model according to BS-4 norms. Scorpio is the most popular model in the company’s product portfolio. The new price cut comes as a result of technological advancement in the model that helps the company to cut down the cost.

According to the company President, Pawan Goenka, the new price cut will help to bridge the gap between newly launched Xylo and the existing SUV Scorpio. The Scorpio range is now available at Rs 7.21 lakh to Rs 9.2 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Xylo is priced between Rs 6.35 lakh and Rs 7.84 lakh.

“The launch of new Scorpio is a well thought-out move. The company conceived the idea before the introduction of Xylo, but could not make it public for obvious reason. Now, the cannibalisation between the two products will come down. However, there will be some cannibalisation, which we are okay with,” said Goenka.
