Bonneville Salt Flats are situated in the Tooele County in north western region of Utah in the United States of America. It is best known for playing host to world famous events like the Speed Week, the World of Speed and the World Finals. These events are a platform for a plethora of cars, motorbikes and trucks to participate and set new speed records on land and break the existing ones. Matt Capri, one of the leading performance tuners of the world introduced two heavily-modified Royal Enfield Continental GT bikes at the Bonneville Salt Flats. This event took place from 22nd to 25th August, 2014 and was a grand success.
Capri raced his Continental GTs at the Speed week, which is considered among the most prestigious events for such occasions. Matt said that the bikes utilised performance tuned camshafts, throttle bodies, cylinder heads, exhaust systems and pistons. As a result, the compression ratio has been boosted from 8:1 to 12:1 and simultaneously the highly sophisticated EFI systems have been put into use.
The models were fit with fairing similar to a bullet to enhance their aerodynamics, thus enabling to zoom at high speeds. Matt will also look forward to double the bikes horsepower with alterations made to the Royal Enfield Continental GT. More updates will soon flow as the experiments, research and development reach its final phase.
