The upcoming bike is expected to be powered by a fuel injected engine with a displacement of 535 cc. This mill will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox and can produce a power output of around 29 bhp with torque of up to 44 Nm. Continental GT, according to sources, is expected to offer a fuel economy of around 25-30 kmpl. It comes with a low profile fuel tank, which has a capacity of 13.5 litres with knee recesses. The driver's seat is a flat unit with slight bulging at the rear, adding to its comforts level. This bike also features Paioli twin gas charged absorbers at rear and bar end rear view mirrors.

It must be noted that Royal Enfield has witnessed a sales increase of around 30 per cent in recent times, as claimed by statistics. As per industry experts, with the launch of Continental GT, this trend is going to get a huge boost. Furthermore, the launch of this bike in the Indian automobile market is likely to promote other two-wheeler makers to come with their exclusive high-end vehicles in order to lure domestic customers. Interestingly, the demand for luxury motorcycles has been rising in India, which is the reason why world known brands are expanding their operations in the country.
