      The highly anticipated model of Royal Enfield, the Continental GT Cafe Racer is finally coming to the Indian auto market. The bike that was first showcased at the Indian Auto Expo has made its fans wait for a long time. The British auto maker seems all set for the launch that is expected to take place in November, 2013. It would be interesting to know that the 250 cc version of this bike dates back to fifty years from now. However, the company has revamped its looks and is working in full swing for its promotions.

      The upcoming model will be equipped with a single cylinder 535 cc fuel injected UCE engine, mated to a five-speed manual constant mesh suspension system. The maximum power churned out by the engine of this bike would be somewhere around 29 bhp. The maximum torque deliverance would be around 44 Nm and the fuel tank capacity would be 13.5 litres. Interestingly, some high end features have been added in the bike so as to lure a maximum number of buyers, such as Paioli gas charged rear suspension, disc brakes on the front as well as rear, clip on handlebars and bar end mirrors and rear set foot pegs. Pirelli tyres, providing strong surface hold, are expected to come along with Royal Enfield Continental GT so as to ensure safety while driving on rough roads and highway.

      The bike will come with a low profile fuel tank with knee recesses and a suspension system with 41 mm forks and double cradle frame so that the rider experiences maximum pleasure on roads. Continental GT will be initially pitched as a single seating bike, however, two sitting configurations will be also available on demand. It must be noted that the price of this highly awaited bike has not been announced yet, however sources believe that it would cost somewhere around Rs. 2.25 lakh – Rs. 2.75 lakh.

The footage that was recently broadcast showed workers assembling the parts of the latest bike by Royal Enfield, Continental GT Cafe Racer at its production plant at Oragadam near Chennai. The fully assembled bike was first exported to UK as the region happens to be the largest export market for this bike.

      In the past 60 years, Royal Enfield Continental GT happens to be the first Cafe Racer bike from the immensely popular firm among bike enthusiasts. Going by the craze that it has created, it would not be a surprise if the latest model by Royal Enfield emerges as a best seller in a short span of time.
