Royal Enfield has introduced a new squadron blue colour for the Classic 500. This new colour is the manufacturer's tribute to the Indian Air Force and its long standing history with them.

The new squadron blue variant gets this colour on the frame, swing-arm and engine mounting brackets similar to the Desert Storm motorcycle. The unique matte sand coloured paint scheme on the latter garnered quite a fan following, and the new model of the retro street styled Classic 500 motorcycle is also designed keeping this in mind.

Rudratej Singh, President, Royal Enfield, said, "The Classic 500 Squadron Blue is a tribute to Royal Enfield’s war time presence and association with the armed forces. We wanted a variant with a genuine armed forces heritage for our customers and for this, Royal Enfield turned to the Indian Air Force for inspiration. We had to be very particular about the colour to create an authenticity and also provide the motorcycle its post war appeal. This inspiration led us to create the Classic Squadron Blue which is now available at price of Rs 1,86,688 on-road Delhi."

Royal Enfield has kept updating its line-up in the form of some cosmetic revisions with the addition of new colours to specific models. This has kept the products fresh and appealing. We are sure that even this 2016 model year update will be well-appreciated by the RE fan base; but let us just hope that fans get to enjoy it without a long waiting period.
