The original Continental GT was revealed in 1963, while a re worked version was launched in the following year. Royal Enfield got famous racers including Geoff Duke and John Cooper to ride a 24-hour sprint with five riders from John O'Groats to Land's End. In 1964, Royal Enfield had clinched the title of making the fastest 250 bike with the Continental GT.

Back in 2012, when Royal Enfield showcased the bike at the Indian Auto Expo in Delhi the excitement levels got high. Even though they had their usual range displayed, the GT was an instant favourite and gathered maximum attention. RE has finally decided to roll it out from their Oragadam Assembly Line. This bike packs in the best of retro styling clubbed with modern sports bike experience.

This Single Cylinder, 4 stroke, Air cooled engine makes 29Bhp at 5100 rpm and also produces a torque rating of 44 Nm at 4000 rpm. It comes with a 5 Speed Constant Mesh gearbox. The GT also gets Paioli,Twin gas charged shock absorbers with adjustable preload, 80mm travel for rear suspensions and Telescopic, 41mm forks, 110mm travel for front suspensions.

Prices of the Royal Enfield Cafe Racer GT have not been officially announced and it seems 26th Nov. 2013 is the day when it would be officially revealed. Ideally, we assume the prices should lie between Rs.2.0 Lakhs to Rs.2.25 Lakhs as this would then create an effective dent in the competition sales. Clearly we are excited about it, share in your views and expectations from the Continental GT.
