British luxury car maker Rolls Royce is planning to sell at least 50 units of its models in India this year including the recently launched Ghost. The company is currently showcasing the model at the Hyderabad International Auto Show 2010. Navnit Motors is the official importer and dealer for Rolls Royce in West and South India. According to Sharad Kachalia, Director, Sales and Marketing, Navnit Motors, they are receiving over-whelming response to the car and the delivery will take at least two to three months after receiving confirmed booking. He also stated that the there is a drastic shift in the customer segment as new young entrepreneurs are buying Rolls Royce against the initial customers with royal heritage. Currently, 60-70 cars sold during pre-independence days are still running on Indian roads.

Rolls Royce is priced at Rs. 2.5-2.7 crores. “Over the first half of this year, we saw unprecedented demand for our cars in India with both Ghost and Phantom helping to drive strong sales growth in the Asia Pacific region. India will be a significant market for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in the years to come. Ghost is a unique car in its segment that blends informality, refinement and dynamism for everyday use,” said Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Asia Pacific Regional Director Paul Harris.
