Rolls-Royce was caught testing their Cullinan on the Nurburgring in Germany. The brand calls its Cullinan, a high-riding vehicle or a high-bodied car instead of an SUV. Either way, the Cullinan will be Rolls-Royce’s largest, most luxurious vehicle when it is debuted later this year.

Despite the similarity of this test mule with the earlier prototype that was spied testing, this one shows sharper design cues at the front-end. It still looks boxy, and no matter how much the prototype is camouflaged, the Rolls-Royce identity is revealed thanks to the signature grille and the unique headlight styling. While power for the Cullinan will come from a tweaked Rolls-Royce V12 powertrain, it is believed that a plug-in hybrid variant will also join the line-up eventually.

Sources claim that the Cullinan will be underpinned by the same aluminium-intensive platform that the upcoming Phantom is based on. This will help it shed a lot of unnecessary weight. Rolls-Royce may look at launching the Cullinan sometime in 2018, after the brand showcases it later in 2017 at some auto show.
