While speaking to the reporters on the occasion of his appointment as development head for India Bangladesh and Sri Lankan market, Herfried Hasenoehrl said, "I am convinced we can build on the momentum we are already enjoying in what has rapidly become a vital market in the Asia-Pacific region."

Brand Rolls Royce has a rich history in the Indian market and the firm had marked its re-entry in the country in year 2005. While further elaborating the brand heritage of Rolls-Royce, Paul Harris, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Regional Director, Asia Pacific, said that firm`s return to India in 2005 was more akin to a homecoming than a traditional brand re-launch. History was revived, with echoes of the grand Maharaja’s; Rolls-Royces of the past were given a new life. He added that this appointment is a testament to the growing importance of a market with a very special relationship with the brand.

The company had recently rolled-out an extended wheelbase variant of its popular luxury car Ghost in the Indian market. The company is all set to open a mega showroom in New Delhi very soon.
