Ahead of its global launch, the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser facelift’s exterior and interior details have been revealed in new images. Similar to the existing model, the new facelifted Land Cruiser will be imported as CBU (completely built up) in India, and is likely to be launched sometime in 2016.
The new images hint that the 2016 Land Cruiser facelift will get LED tail-lamp cluster with slightly different design, and a new white exterior paint job. Other exterior updates include a large chrome grille, new LED daytime running lights, revised front bumper with chrome detailing, chrome surround fog light enclosures and rectangular LED headlights and taillights. The interior, too, will be revised with new dashboard trims, an all-new four-spoke steering wheel and new center console with a larger touchscreen infotainment display, modified gear selector and revised floor console.
Powering the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser will be a 5.7-litre Dual VVT-I V8 petrol engine that is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is capable to develop a maximum power of 362bhp and 540Nm of torque. A 4.6-litre V8 petrol and a 4.5-litre, four-cylinder V8 diesel engines will also be on offer. The latter one churns out a maximum power output of 261.49bhp at 3,400rpm and 650Nm of torque at 1,600rpm – 2,600rpm. If reports are to be believed, the base version of the SUV will get a new-generation ‘GD’ 2.8-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
