Launched in mid 2012, Renault Duster compact SUV has achieved the landmark of 1 lakh unit sales in domestic market within two years of its launch. To celebrate the milestone, Renault India has rolled out a limited edition of the vehicle. Priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), only limited units of the limited edition Duster will be available for sale. This implies the popularity of the SUV in India, in order to keep abreast with the competition; Renault is developing a facelift version of the SUV that will be offered with 4X4 option.
The tweaked variant is slated to launch later this year in India. A few days ago, Renault also rolled out 85 PS Renault Duster Adventure Edition powered with the diesel engine. The new Adventure Edition is available for sale at Rs 9.16 lakh. It is being said that in wake of luring customers, the company has rolled out 85 PS Adventure Edition and the new Limited edition which will act as a buffer before the modified version is launched. This, on the other hand will also give Duster an upper hand over its arch rival EcoSport that has been gaining attention of the customers of late.
Duster was the first SUV in India to break the barrier of cliché large SUVs. The compact sized vehicle offering as much space and features as the conventional SUVs made it an instant hit. Renault officials believe that India is a vital market for the company and having said that it will keep offering more value for money and mass segment vehicles in the exponentially growing auto souk.
