      Renault-Arkana

Renault Captur based C-segment crossover will be called as the Arkana. The vehicle is slated for launch in 2019 and production version will unveiled at the Moscow International Motor Show 2018, on 29 August. The new model’s name is derived from Latin Arcanum (‘secret’), which was used for centuries to mark events and phenomena of special significance. Post its debut in India the company’s first coupe-SUV will sell alongside the Captur in the country.

Although Renault chooses to remain tight-lipped about the developments, the concept for the Arkana has been associated with mystery, attractiveness and pioneer spirit. Renault will start the production run for the C-segment crossover in Russia and will then extend to the upcoming markets like Brazil and South-east Asia. It is believed that the upcoming vehicle will be the first of its kind in the budget segment globally, especially when SUV’s are generally priced higher.

Engine details will be revealed at a later date, however we believe that it might be powered by a 1.5-litre K9K Dci engine that generates about 110bhp of power. The engine is expected to come mated to a six-speed manual as well as an AMT option that is offered in India. More details about the vehicle will be known at a later date.
