French carmaker Renault has been growing steadily in the Indian market. Fresh updates from the company has revealed its plans to double its market share in India with the launch of a new multi-purpose vehicle and a small car this year. Apart from this, the company shall also try and establish a strong used car platform for its customers. Speaking more on future plans, Sumit Sawhney, country CEO and managing director, Renault India, said, “"India will potentially be the first market in the world where our global small car would be launched.”
The Lodgy MPV from Renault shall also help the brand gain a good footing in the 7-8 seater vehicle segment, whereas the small car is also likely to be a hotseller in the small car segment that would be offered in Sub 4 lakh category. The Lodgy MPV is likely to be launched sometime early next month and the small car shall soon follow in the domestic market. The carmaker has also been working on backing used car business with a strong value added support to customers. Speaking more on the occasion, Sawhney said, ““A strong platform is needed to help customers looking to buy a new car.” This would indeed help existing owners dispose off the old car and opt for a newer one.
