Renault India is all set to launch the much-awaited Lodgy MPV in the country today. Though, Renault dealers have already started pre-orders for the car. Expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 8.5 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh, the Lodgy will take on the likes of Toyota Innova, Honda Mobilio, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the upcoming Chevrolet Spin. The vehicle will be launched in diesel version only.
Under the bonnet of the Lodgy MPV is the tried & tested 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that also powers the Duster. Just like Duster, the Lodgy too will get this engine in two states of tunes - 84bhp/200Nm and 108bhp/245Nm. While the latter is coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, the less powerful 84bhp is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox. The ARAI rated fuel efficiency for the 84bhp unit is 21.04kmpl, while the 108bhp engine returns 19.98kmpl of mileage.
The Renault Lodgy MPV is a spacious MPV which will be offered in both seven-seat and eight-seat versions. The seven-seater features comfortable captain seats for the second row passengers. It is equipped with power socket and air-con vents for all three seats. It also features driver height adjustable seat, touch-screen MediaNAV with USB, Bluetooth & AUX, multi-functional steering wheel, and leather upholstery for steering, gear level and other trims.
The MPV will be locally produced at the Renault-Nissan Alliance facility in Oragadam, Chennai. It will share most of its components with the Duster SUV. Safety and security features on offer will be ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution), Brake assist, airbags for driver and co-driver, etc.
