Renault India is all set to launch the much-awaited Lodgy MPV in the country. The vehicle made its first public appearance at the StarGuild Awards, 2015. Moreover, Hrithik Roshan was the first customer of Lodgy MPV in India. The company has also released the official images of the MPV. Our sources revealed that Renault India could launch the MPV in the end of March, 2015. It will rival against the likes of Honda Mobilio, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Nissan Terrano.
The Renault Lodgy MPV comes with a large wheelbase of 2810mm, which will offer spacious cabin to buyers. Upfront is the new chrome bar grille, which is flanked by sweptback headlamps, and new bumper. At the back, the India-spec model features updated tail lights and bumper. The interior components including infotainment system, instrument cluster, steering wheel, air conditioning vents, etc are directly lifted from the Duster SUV.
The Renault Lodgy MPV is likely to be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The oil burner is the same 1.5-litre dCi engine that offers two states of tunes- 85PS and 110PS. While the smaller engine is coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox, the more powerful 110PS motor will be paired to a six-speed gearbox. The company might also introduce the petrol version of the MPV, which is expected to get the 1.6-litre engine that also powers the Duster. The Renault Lodgy MPV is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh.
