Renault Captur has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, all India). Renault’s newly launched model, the Captur shares the same underpinnings as the Duster. The Captur gets a five-seat layout and is based on Renault’s new design language. The crossover also offers an additional set of features over the Duster in India.
In terms of design, the Captur features curvy-body lines and flared wheel arches. The front gets a horizontally slotted smiley grille with Renault’s diamond logo at the centre. The top of the line variant features full LED headlamps, C-shaped DRLs and LED tail lamps along with 17-inch diamond cut alloys. As for safety, it gets front airbags as standard along with ABS and EBD, brake assist, hill-start assist and electronic stability control. The vehicle also gets ISOFIX standard fitments for child seats along with rear parking sensors.
The Renault Captur is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.5-litre engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission that generates 104bhp of power and 142Nm of torque. The diesel version on the other hand is powered by a 1.5-litre engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission which generates 108bhp of power and 240Nm of torque. Currently, both the engine options are limited to manual transmission and does not offer AWD option for now.
As for the interior, the Captur gets leather upholstery, electrically adjustable driver seat and a 7-inch touchscreen display in the centre-console with smartphone integration via Bluetooth, voice command and GPS navigation. Automatic climate control is standard along with electrically operated wing mirrors, cruise control and steering mounted audio controls.
