Renault has announced that it will locally assemble the Kwid hatchback for the Brazilian market.  This will be the first country outside of India  where the Kwid will be assembled and it is possible that Renault may even export the car to other Latin American countries from this facility.

The car will be assembled at the Ayrton Senna industrial complex where Renault Brazil has its plant. We believe that the Brazilian-spec cars will be offered only with the 1.0-litre engine and possibly the AMT option. The safety features are also expected to get an upgrade in the form of additional airbags and ABS to comply with the local safety standards.

We also believe that the Datsun Redigo will follow the Kwid and be produced locally as it is based on the same CMF-A platform as the former and is being assembled at the same plant in Chennai for the Indian market.
