      Renault Kwid has a six month waiting period

      It seems like French carmaker Renault has got it all right with its all-new offering – Kwid. The increasing demand of the hatchback is giving a tough time to the company’s dealers. The Renault Kwid that received over 25,000 bookings within its first week of its launch, currently has a waiting period of six months in tier II cities and two-three months in tier I cities. Deliveries of the hatchback were commenced from October 15, 2015. Launched at Rs. 2.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Renault Kwid takes on the Hyundai Eon, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and others in the league. Renault Kwid

      Powering the Kwid is a 799cc, three-cylinder DOHC petrol engine that is paired to a five-speed manual transmission. This engine delivers a maximum power of 53.2bhp, while yielding a torque of 72Nm. It is claimed to return a class-leading mileage of 25.17kmpl. The lightweight body-built and all-aluminum compact engine also aids to its fuel efficiency. Based on an all-new CMF-A platform, the Kwid comes with first-in-segment seven-inch touchscreen display with navigation system.  The hatchback also offers best-in-class legroom and headroom, and a boot space of 300-litres. 

      The base variant of the vehicle comes equipped with digital instrument cluster with gear-shift indicator, manual steering, grey upholstery, single-tone dashboard, driver-side ORVM, roof spoiler, steel wheels, and black front and rear bumpers. While features like media navigation pack, chrome-finished instrument cluster, AC vents with chrome elements, leather-wrapped steering, central locking system, fog lamps, front wiper with washer, and an optional driver airbag are offered only on the top-end model.
