An undisguised Renault Kwid prototype has been caught doing the rounds in Chennai. At first glance, it looks like the regular model, however, a closer look reveals the Easy-R badging at the rear. This, of course, means it’s the highly anticipated AMT-equipped Kwid.
The Kwid AMT is due for launch this festive season besides a more powerful 1-litre version. Design wise, the only differentiating bit is the ‘Easy-R’ badge on the outside and the rotary knob-like gear selector inside the cabin.
The Renault Kwid competes in the highly challengingly entry-level small car segment and is doing really well for the French automaker. Renault managed to sell close to 10,000 units of the Kwid in March 2016, which contributed to a healthy 160 per cent increase in the brand’s overall sales compared to the same period last year.
