      Renault India to unveil compact hatchback Pulse today

      Renault Pulse, one of the mush awaited compact hatchbacks in the Indian market, will be unveiled today in the country. The Renault pulse, which was codenamed as B58 by the car maker, will be the third India portfolio model of French car maker Renault. Renault had marked its reentry in the Indian market just a few months back with the launch of premium sedan Fluence, which was followed by luxury compact sports utility vehicle – Renault Koleos.

      The Renault Pulse will be manufactured at the Renault-Nissan’s joint facility in Chennai. The car will be based on popular V-platform of the firm on which the cars like Micra hatchback and Sunny sedan have been developed. Most of designing and styling characteristics of the new Renault Pulse are expected to be borrowed from Nissan Micra model. The major competitors of the Pulse hatchback in the Indian market will include Maruti Swift, Ford Figo, Hyundai i20, Honda Brio, Volkswagen Polo, etc.

      However, there will be a number of unique designing and styling features in Pulse model to make sure different look for the car. While the front profile of Pulse hatchback including nose, headlights, grill and the rear hatch design will be unique in its segment, the dashboard of the car is expected to bear quite similarity with the Micra model.

      The Renault Pulse is expected to be launched in both petrol and diesel versions in the Indian market, powered by the 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines, respectively. Both of these engines have already been doing duties in Micra hatchback in the country.
