Renault India has recorded selling 1,30,000 units of the Kwid till date. These impressive sales figures have prompted the carmaker to export the Kwid to the SAARC countries as well.
The Renault Kwid has turned out to a big success for the company due to its good looks, new features and affordable pricing. It had achieved a landmark of getting 25,000 bookings within a week since its launch. Ever since then, the entry-level hatchback has had a good demand and the carmaker also did the necessary arrangements to reduce the waiting periods of the car.
Renault offers the Kwid in two petrol engine options - 800cc and 1.0-litre. While both of these mills come mated to a five-speed manual transmission, the 1.0-litre engine is available with an AMT gearbox as well.
The Renault Kwid accounts for major part of the French automaker's overall sales figures in India. The hatchback has also helped to boost their market share in India. However, this wouldn't have been possible had the company increased its presence in urban, semi-urban and rural regions in our country. The continuous network expansion has helped the company to achieve this landmark.
