Renault India, the domestic arm of French auto maker, has introduced a new variant of its much appreciated compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Duster, named RxZ Plus. Interestingly, this variant happens to be the top end diesel Duster, which has done away with the air conditioner vents at rear. Industry experts are of a view that with this development, the auto maker has increased the space at rear seats.
The dealers of Renault India believe that this move has been taken by the company based on the customer feedback. According to them, a number of customers complained insufficient space at the rear seat because of the air vent occupying ample space in the middle. The RxZ Plus variant has been priced at Rs. 12.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which shows a cut of Rs. 5,000 in comparison with the Diesel RxZ Option Pack.
The new variant comes equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine, which has the potential to belt out a maximum power of 108 bhp, along with a torque of up to 248 Nm. Key highlights of this compact SUV are leather seats and satellite navigation system. Industry experts are of a view that the introduction of a new variant, based on the customer feedback will surely assist Renault India to pull in some decent volumes in the utility vehicle segment.
