Renault India has confirmed that the new Renault Duster will be launched in India on 17 March, with prices to be announced on the same day. The mid-size SUV has already started reaching dealerships in display and test-drive units ahead of its official launch.
The new-generation Duster marks the SUV’s return to the Indian market after being discontinued in 2022, and it aims to re-establish Renault’s presence in the highly competitive compact SUV segment. Bookings for the model have been open for Rs. 21,000, with customer deliveries of the turbo-petrol variants expected to begin soon after the launch, and the strong-hybrid version arriving later in the year.

Under the hood, the India-spec 2026 Duster will offer a range of powertrain options, including a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit and a 1.8-litre strong-hybrid petrol powertrain. The smaller turbo unit will be paired with a six-speed manual, while the 1.3-litre turbo may be offered with both a manual and six-speed dual-clutch automatic. The strong-hybrid setup combines a 1.8-litre engine with electric assistance and will make its India debut on this SUV, with deliveries scheduled around the Diwali 2026 period.
On the outside, the new Duster retains its familiar rugged silhouette while adopting sharper and more modern styling elements tailored for India. Expected design updates include slim LED daytime running lights, a bold grille with prominent ‘Duster’ branding, and robust cladding with up to 212mm ground clearance.

Inside, the cabin features a dual-screen setup comprising a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver display, along with modern conveniences such as a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, ventilated and powered front seats, and a 360-degree camera. The SUV is also likely to get a comprehensive suite of Level 2 ADAS safety features.
Once launched, the new Renault Duster will compete with key rivals in the segment including the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and Kia Seltos, with pricing expected to be positioned between roughly Rs. 10 lakh and around Rs. 20 lakh, ex-showroom.
