Renault has a packed show floor at this year’s Sao Paulo Auto Show in Brazil. Besides a range of production hatchbacks and crossovers, the French carmaker is also showcasing a couple of neat looking concepts in the form of the Duster Extreme Concept and the Kwid Outsider.
The Extreme Concept is yet another jazzed-up version of the Duster which shows the crossover in its most hardcore off-road avatar yet. Designed by Renault Design Latin America, the concept uses a standard Duster 2-litre AWD as its base and amplifies the vehicle’s off-road prowess with a range of customisations. Design wise, the concept gets a mean-looking grey paint with red inserts, different headlights and front and rear bumpers.
The Duster Extreme Concept also gets off-road tyres, jacked up suspension, a roof rack and a tow hook. Under the hood, it seems Renault has retained the 2-litre 140bhp engine in stock form. The engine is a flex fuel unit which means it can also run using ethanol.
Besides the Duster Extreme Concept, Renault is also showcasing a specially built Kwid called the ‘Kwid Outsider’ at the Sao Paulo Auto Show. The latter uses a snazzy paint scheme, bigger wheels, different bumpers and meatier plastic cladding all around to attract visitors.
