“We will be increasing the prices as input costs have gone up. We are currently evaluating the period as when to undertake the exercise. It will be in the range of one to two per cent,” said Sumit Sawhney, managing director and CEO, Renault India. The Renault line-up in India comprises five models -  the peppy little entry-level hatchback the Kwid, a proper hatch the Pulse, the Scala sedan, an MPV, the Lodgy and a compact crossover, the Duster.

Rising input costs have pushed major automakers in the country to hike their vehicle prices. Earlier, Tata Motors announced a price hike on their passenger vehicles. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai both announced a price hike of up to Rs 20,000 on all their passenger vehicles. Mahindra and Mahindra already increased the prices of their passenger and small commercial vehicles by up to 1 per cent from October 2016.
