Renault has launched its Captur crossover in India and has priced it in the range of Rs 9.99 lakhs to Rs 13.88 lakhs for the new top spec Platine diesel. Essentially, the range comprises three petrol and four diesel variants with only an MT option. We have already driven the Captur and you can read about it here. The Captur is in an exciting price range where it takes on a range of cars and here is the breakdown of what is on offer.

What else is available for the price of the Renault Captur

Renault Captur RXE petrol (Rs 9.99 lakhs)
This is the entry point for the Captur crossover and even here the feature list for the car is pretty decent. You get climate control, 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth connectivity, LED DRLs, dual airbags and ISOFIX points for child seats. In this price range you can get the top version of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Maruti Ertiga, Honda WR-V, Mahindra TUV 300 and the VW Ameo. On the other hand, you get multiple entry-level variants of the Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and the S-Cross. Finally, in terms of matching body style, you get the Duster RXS CVT as well as the Nissan Terrano in the XE diesel trim.

Renault Captur RXL petrol (Rs 11.07 lakhs) and Captur RXE diesel (Rs 11.39 lakhs)
It’s the mid-level petrol and the entry-level diesel model in this price bracket. The mid-level petrol sees an increase in the number of features on offer while the entry-level diesel is the same as the entry-level petrol.
There are a large number of vehicles in this price range across various body styles. The Maruti S-Cross and Ciaz are offered in the top spec diesel and petrol trims while the City and BR-V from the Honda stables are in the mid-level trims for both petrol and diesel. In the case of the former, you can also have the City with a CVT option. The Hyundai Creta and Ford EcoSport represent the small SUV brigade while the sedan range offers the Hyundai Verna in the SX petrol and diesel trims as well as the VW Vento in the Highline Plus petrol model. In terms of big SUVs, you get the Scorpio in the base S4 trim as well as the soon to be retiring Xylo in the top-spec H8 ABS variant.

Renault Captur RXT petrol (Rs 11.69 lakhs)
The main vehicles that the Captur appears to be targeting are in their top level trims here. The Ciaz, City and Vento are available as the S diesel, V diesel/ VX petrol and Highline 1.2-petrol AT respectively. The Verna figures here too and it can be had in the EX AT diesel trim level. This the most expensive petrol model you can buy and it comes loaded with most of the features in the Renault arsenal.
Renault Captur RXL diesel (Rs 12.47 lakhs)
This is a mid-level diesel variant and gets the same feature list as its petrol sibling and is priced 1.4 lakhs more. The jump here is significant for its rivals from the other end of the market as you score over top models of the BR-V, Verna, Vento, Skoda Rapid as well the Creta. On the other side of the scale, you get the mid-level S6 Scorpio and the entry-level W4 XUV500.

Renault Captur RXT diesel (Rs 13.09 lakhs)
In the standard Renault hierarchy, this is the most expensive Captur you can buy that is if you aren’t willing to shell out the extra Rs 80,000 for the Platine variant. Here you get all the features and options that Renault has for the Captur. In keeping with that you get the top-of-the-line City VX diesel, BR-V VX diesel, Hyundai Verna SX Plus diesel AT as well as VW Vento diesel highline AT. On the other side of the vehicle range, the Elantra makes an entry here with the S MT variant.

      Renault Captur Platine diesel
It’s a new extra luxurious variant of the Captur and only available with diesel power. In addition to the features of the RXT trim, you also get side airbags, ESC, hill start assist, fog lamps with cornering function and premium upholstery. The Honda City VX AT and ZX diesel, Vento Highline Plus diesel AT and the Creta SX Plus dual tone are present here.
