Renault has officially unveiled the Bridger Concept, offering a preview of a new rugged compact SUV that the brand is developing primarily for markets like India. The concept signals Renault’s intention to expand its SUV portfolio with a lifestyle-oriented model aimed at adventure-focused buyers.
The Bridger Concept showcases a boxy and upright design with muscular proportions, emphasising its off-road-inspired character. Visual highlights include a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, high ground clearance, roof rails, and bold illuminated Renault lettering on the front fascia.

Renault has confirmed that the upcoming production model based on this concept will be designed and developed in India, underlining the importance of the market in the brand’s future product strategy. The SUV will measure under four metres in length, allowing it to benefit from India’s small car tax structure while still offering a spacious cabin.
While the company has not revealed complete technical details yet, the production version is expected to sit alongside the Renault Kiger in the lineup and below the upcoming Renault Duster. It could also share the brand’s 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine currently used in the Kiger, paired with manual and automatic transmission options.
The production version of the Bridger is expected to arrive later, potentially around 2027.
