Maruti Suzuki India’s upcoming Ciaz sedan was caught on camera while its television commercial was being shot. Ciaz’s commercial features actor Ranveer Singh who was last seen in blockbuster film Ramleela. Sources reveal that the commercial was shot in PM Narendra Modi’s native state, Gujarat. Slated to launch in India next month, Ciaz has been teased by MSI much before its launch. MSI has also updated its microsite on its official website.
The company is aggressively promoting its SX4 replacement and claims that the sedan possesses boastful best in class dimensions.Maruti Suzuki India has focused more on the rear seat of Ciaz to give it an edge over its rivals in C segment.Maruti Ciaz sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options in a total of six trim levels. The petrol range is likely to borrow the 1.4 litre K-Series petrol engine from Ertiga MPV. Diesel variants of Ciaz will get Fiat sourced robust 1.3 litre diesel powertrain. Petrol and diesel engine will be synchronised to a manual transmission, MSI could also put on offer an automatic gearbox. Speculations suggest that MSI will not proffer automated manual transmission in Ciaz.
MSI officials have revealed that it has achieved 15 per cent growth in domestic market in terms of sales in first five months of current year. With the festive season inching closer the company is positive that it will witness further growth during this period. Besides Ciaz, Maruti Suzuki India will also launch facelifted avatar of its flagship Swift hatchback and Swift Dzire compact Dzire. The company has confirmed that it is developing a SUV rivalling Renault Duster and a compact SUV to compete with Ford EcoSport.
