Range Rover’s upcoming Evoque convertible was spied on test in India recently hinting at its launch. This is the open top version of the SUV and pitted to be the most capable convertible SUVs in the world.
The main USP of the Evoque convertible is the soft-top roof with a glass rear screen tucked under a plastic cover located behind the rear seats. This fully-automated roof has a Z-fold mechanism with the help of which it closes in 18 seconds and can close in 21 seconds at speeds of 48kmph.
The open top version of the Range Rover Evoque will be offered only in the HSE Dynamic variant in India. It is powered by a 2.0-litre Si4 turbocharged four-cylinder petrol mill that churns out 237bhp of power and 340Nm of torque. It comes mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and power is sent all the wheels via a four-wheel drive system. The car does the 0-100 sprint in 8.6 seconds and reaches a top-speed of 209kmph.
The Range Rover Evoque convertible is expected to be launched in India sometime this year. It will be brought to our country through the CBU route.
