The Women’s World Car of the Year 2012 awards event that is planned to be organized at the Mondial de l'Automobile aka The Paris Motor Show in month of September this year has made a grand announcement of the top accolade winners.

The sporty and upbeat crossover SUV, Range Rover Evoque grabbed the top spot owing to the urbanized looks and attributes of the SUV finely blended with the daring off-road capabilities. The bestselling premium compact executive car, BMW 3 series scored a second position while the compact SUV, Audi Q3 made its way to the third spot.

The jury panel of the fourth Women’s World Car of the Year awards comprised of 20 female judges from across 11 countries that filtered the winners from a criteria list that contained 32 most popular cars globally. The shortlisted cars were divided into four categories – Economy Car, Family Car, Sports Car and Luxury Car. The judges had to rate the car on the basis of maximum points allotted and the car that scored the most was adjudged as the winner in the category as well as of the main title.

The secret ballot votes of the jury members was headed towards international auditors and accountants, Grant Thornton, at their office in Auckland, New Zealand, where the individual results were collated to arrive at the final winner’s list.

The accolade winning trophy will be framed in Netherlands while the category-wise winners will be presented with the certificates finely designed at Peartree Studios in Colerne, UK.
